On October 23, 2018, Heaven gained another Angel. CAROLE LOUISE (CARTER) KRESSE passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly. Carole touched the lives of everyone with whom she interacted through her generosity and selfless acts of kindness. The most amazing mother, grandmother and friend, she was a sensitive soul who would give the shirt off her back to help a stranger in need. Born on March 9, 1940, in Fredericksdale, Ohio to Lela and John Carter, she graduated valedictorian from Sarahsville High School in 1958 and Columbus Business College in 1960. She possessed an unrivaled work ethic that she instilled in her daughters and demonstrated through her years of employment at RCA, Rockwell International (Boeing), and Rinehart & Rishel, LTD. Carole was known to many for her delicious homemade pies, her southern cooking (fried chicken, homemade noodles, and lima beans were a favorite), her fondness for Lifetime Movie Channel movies, and her passion for dancing. Although Carole grew up on a farm, she was never a “farm girl”; Carole was a city girl through and through at heart. She loved to travel, get dressed up, and was even known to mow the lawn in pumps (because they were more comfortable than tennis shoes in her opinion). If asked, Carole would say that her biggest accomplishment in life was raising her two daughters, Kelly (John) LaVoie and Michelle (Rob) Donahue for whom she was extremely proud. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished all of the special moments she was able to spend with them. Her eight grandchildren, Holden, Marleigh, Kaitlyn, Maurina, Alexis “Lexi,” Annabelle “Belle,” Marielle, and MacGregor brought her tremendous joy, and she fostered a special bond with each of them; they adored and thought the absolute world of her. In addition to her daughters and grandchildren, she leaves behind brothers, John (Linda) Carter, James (Marlene) Carter, David (Sandy) Carter, and Richard (Sandy) Carter; and sisters, Joyce (Bob) Larrick, Marilyn (Lowell) Henderson, and Kathryn Carter. She is also survived by her ex-husband, Robert; best friend, Trudy Sipes; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lela Carter, and her nephew, Wesley H. Carter. Family will receive friends from 11am-12pm on Monday October 29, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230. A Funeral Service will follow. Interment at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville, OH. The family would like to send a very heartfelt thank you to Capital City Hospice and the staff at Tuscany Gardens of Pataskala for taking such amazing and loving care of Carole in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Carole. Donations can be sent directly to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C., 20090-6011, online at alz.org, or by calling 1-800-272-3900.
