Carolyn K. Beebe, age 78, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 9, 1945, in Farmersville, Ohio, to the late Kenneth and Betty (Garner) Hawvermale.
Carolyn’s life was marked by unwavering love, dedication, and service to others. Born and raised in Farmersville, she spent her formative years working alongside her family on their farm, instilling in her a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for the land. She was an active member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, where her faith began to blossom, shaping her values and guiding her throughout her life.
After graduating from Farmersville High School in 1963, Carolyn pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Capital University and later a Master of Education from Ohio State University. It was during this time that she met and married the love of her life, David Beebe, with whom she shared a beautiful daughter Diane.
Carolyn's passion for education led her to a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher in Columbus City Schools for 35 years. She poured her heart and soul into her work, spending 27 of those years at Shady Lane Elementary, where she earned numerous accolades, including Teacher of the Year. Carolyn's dedication to her students went beyond the classroom; she formed meaningful connections and touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion.
Faith played a central role in Carolyn's life, and she was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she shared her musical talents in the bell choir and volunteered tirelessly. She found solace and strength in her faith, which sustained her through life's challenges.
Carolyn was a devoted caregiver to her late husband, David, supporting him through his struggles with arthritis with unwavering love and compassion. Together, they shared a love of music, working in their garden and enjoying nature's beauty in Franklin Park Conservatory and Whetstone Park of Roses.
Carolyn will be greatly missed by her daughter Diane, son-in-law Sun-Jan, and grandsons Everett and August. Her sister Kathleen, brother-in-law James, niece Kelly, and nephew Jason.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212, where family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of the service at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation in her memory, honoring her commitment to helping others even in her passing.
Carolyn will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
