

Carolyn Virginia "Jinny" Rogers, 94, of Worthington, passed away on April 12, 2016. She was born in Columbus on June 1, 1921 to George F. and Eleanor (Hughes) Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Tommy Davis. Jinny received her RN and Master's degrees from The Ohio State University; and also served as a nurse in the Army where she worked at an evacuation hospital during the Battle of the Bulge. She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church, worked as a hospital volunteer, was very active in children's organizations, and was a life-time member of Delta Zeta sorority, Theta Chapter. Jinny enjoyed gardening, and was a wonderful seamstress and avid cryptogram solver. Her wit and humor will be greatly missed by her husband of 69 years James E. Rogers; her children Caroline (fiancé Barry Gillenwater) Reinier, Susan (James) Cox, and Tom, John and Timothy Rogers; her grandchildren Angela (John) Kessler, Joseph (Ellen) Reinier, Jennifer (fiancé David Stottlemire) Reinier, Daniel (Erin) Reinier, Zachary Reinier, Matthew (Maria Muratori) Cox, and Michael (Jacquelyn) Cox; and 12 great grandchildren. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 11am Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street with Pastor Jeffrey Wise officiating. Visiting hours will be from 10am until the time of the service. Following the service, burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to your favorite charity.
