Carrie A. Shaffer

Carrie A. Shaffer, age 82, of Newark, OH passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Autumn Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born May 10, 1929 in Princeton, WV to the late Clarence James and Annie Kate Linkous. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Shaffer; children, Ernest Shaffer and Kathy Bailey; sisters, Janet, Peggy and Della and brothers, Bill, Clyde and Junior. She is survived by her children, Paulette (Richard) Ridenbaugh, John Shaffer and Joyce (Rick) Prince; 6 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark, where services will be held Friday at 12pm; Chaplain Mark Pierce, officiating; interment to follow in Wilson Cemetery.
