Catherine Ward

Catherine Ward, age 85, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026. Catherine was born July 10, 1940, in Ashtabula, OH, to the late Francis and Velma Orsag. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Orsag, and brother, Norman Orsag.

Catherine is survived by loving husband of 35 years, Russell P Ward, brother, John Orsag, sister-in-law, Linda Orsag, children; Ronald (Corby) Kister, Kimberly Gallimore, Jeffrey (Traci) Kister, and Kenneth (Shelly) Kister, grandchildren; Jonathan (Katy) Kister, Ben (Shannon) Kister, Emily Kister, Alexa (Aaron) Lupari, Alivia Kister, Ava Kister, James Rich, Andrew Gallimore and Morgan Gallimore, and great-grandchildren; Jacob, Melody, Fulton, Lucia, Ellie, Quinn, Liza and Rowan, along with many other dear family and friends.

Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family, cherishing every moment spent together, from when her children were little, swimming at the lake, to the bright smiles of her great-grandchildren last week. She and Russ were snowbirds from Ohio to Florida for 17 years, where she loved being on the beach. Catherine enjoyed activities with the Masons and Shriners, especially the breakfast with Santa and the circus with the grandkids. She walked this earth with a kind heart, befriending everyone she met. Catherine is loved and will be deeply missed.

Family will have a private funeral service on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, with burial at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Please share condolences or memories with Catherine’s family.
