

Charles A. Clickenger, age 92, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010. Chuck on born on December 21, 1917 in Columbus; he is the son of the late George and Susan Clickenger. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Olga; brothers, Bill and Ray; and sister, Clara. Chuck served his country proudly during WWII in the Army Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and mechanic on P-51 Mustangs. He retired from R.G. Barry after 10 years of service. Chuck was a member of North Park Church of Christ, where he loved to sing. Chuck also enjoyed bowling. But, his true joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren; Chuck loved the roll of grandpa. He was a strong man both mentally and physically and always practiced patience. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene (Greg) Monett; step-daughters, Maggie (Kelly) Cumbo, Virginia (Jerry) Reed and Ernestine (Steve) Shirley; 11 grandchildren, Tammy, Bettina, Tracy, Scott, John, Jason, Carol Ann, Beau, Corrina, Greg and Charles; 12 great grandchildren, Holly, Whitney, Joe, Alex, Samantha, Ashley, Nina, Lily, Sophia, Abigail, Miles and Jacob; and sister, Pearl. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 6-8pm at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10am at North Park Church of Christ, 4938 Westerville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. Pastor Steve Petty officiating. Interment to follow at Northlawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to North Park Church of Christ.
