Charles R. Gardner, age 77, loving husband, father, brother and pappa, passed away January 5, 2013. He was born May 12, 1935 in Point Pleasant, WV to the late William and Ocie Gardner; also preceded in death by his brother, Lester Gardner, grandson, Chad White and great-granddaughter, Alexa Mowery. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Carolyn (Troutman) Gardner; daughters, Teresa Mowery of St. Petersburg, FL and Tammy (Paul) Sprague of Orient, OH; sisters, Margurite Hughes of St. Albans, WV, Virginia (Pearl) Trapp of Hahira, GA and Emma Lou (Mike) Matheny of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Todd (Jamie) Mowery, Tony (Nicole) Mowery, Nicole White and Cory Sprague; great-grandchildren, Preston White-West, Cami White, Ellie Mowery and Braxton Mowery; sister-in-law Marilyn May; extended family and friends. Charlie served as a volunteer fireman for the Harrisburg Fire Dept. and retired from Westinghouse. Family will receive friends 4-7 Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, where services will be at 1pm Wednesday; interment Pleasant Cemetery; Pastor Edwin Martin, officiating.
