Charles Dwight "Chuck" Hill

Charles Dwight “Chuck” Hill Jr., age 71, of Galloway, OH and Venice, Florida, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015. He was born January 9, 1944 in Columbus, OH, son of the late Charles D. and Helyn Hill. Preceded in death by wife Carol “Lynn” Hill. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Charles will be deeply missed by his children Cyndie Hill and Chrissie Hill Wilson; grandchildren Lee and Halee Wilson; and special “son” Steve Messinger; former wife Susan Hill; girlfriend Sally Stauffer; beloved cat What’s Up; sister Marilyn (Lloyd Cox), brother Robert Hill. Charles attended Columbus Academy and was a 1962 graduate of Upper Arlington High School. He attended The Ohio State University. Charles was Chairman and CEO of Hill Distributing and CD Hill Family Enterprises. He was past President and 22 year Board Member of Wholesale Beer and Wine Association of Ohio. He also received numerous awards including Wholesaler of the Year. He was proud to be a past Elder of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the choir. Charles loved traveling, fly fishing, storytelling, and considered himself a connoisseur of beer and wine. Family will receive friends 3-8 pm Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, where there will be a special toast to Chuck at 7pm. Funeral Service 10am Friday, December 4, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2745 W. Broad St at Hague, with Pastor Tom Phillips officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery. Reception to follow at Sports on Tap, 4030 Main Street, Hilliard, OH.
