To my new family;  we started out as nurse and patient, and in a short time  the day he showed me his legs (lol) we became family.  I want you all to know that you hold a special place in my heart, and I am honored to have gotten the chance to serve you all.  I was reading the christmas card Mr Hyde gave me and in it he said "one of his best presents this year(2010) was geting to meet me."  I will treasure this card for many years, for he too was on of the best presents I received this year.  Feb 15th " Valentines day" will have a special meaning for me, for that was the day I asked him to be my valentine,and not one of the women in his life got jealous (lol) I will cherish the picture of he and I in his "fancy hat" and will tuck him in my heart right next to my own father.  Thanks for sharing the man you all loved with me.  I am only a phone call away if you should ever need someone to talk, cry or laugh with.

Dear Mary Lou and Family,

Lee and I dearly loved Chuck, and we will miss him and remember him in the days and years to come.  I found this poem a long time ago, and I would like to share it with you.  Love,  Lee and Beverly Maigatter

Chuck,  I wish we had gotten to know each other better than we did.  You are much too young to be gone.  I miss you terribly, but I know that you are no longer suffering, and are in the hands of our loving God.  Do me a favor will you?  How about putting in a good word for me, and if you are able, save me a place.  I will forever and always fondly and lovingly remember the "Jani Jo" shuffle.

My Dear Brother........while my heart aches that you are not with us any longer on this earth I remember the look of pain and suffering in your eyes those last days and, as Kim Ann Hyde's poem beautifully illustrates, God always takes the best, you are not suffering anymore and I'm sure you are with us now and forever. Chuck: you always had many funny stories. I am sorry I didn't have time to review many of them and your life with you. I did it in my mind. One of the best stories was the one about "the same kind of dog on every porch", for which you took great amount of feedback all your life. You and Mike were a formidable combination of "big brothers", that contributed much to my emotional growing-up. You led the way through the sea of youthful turmoil. I believe you were the originator of the much used phrase "18 and OUT", and I utilize it today in my work with adolescents. Mostly Cape Cod and Black Lick were worlds apart. You made it here once on a Greyhound. I have fond memories of it. Thankyou fJames D. Hydeor the big brother and "fatherly" advice to stay in school in 1960 when I wanted to drop out. Belatedly, I apologize for all the little brother grief I seemed to enjoy sending your way during our time on Prevost Street! Its good to know that we both were able to survive it and become good people. We did not share many of our grown up years, but we always tried to make the best of what we had. In departing, I want to remember that we followed a true course and when we didn't have what we wanted in life, we wanted what we had! Love, Jim

Lit a candle in memory of Charles F. Hyde

Chuck was never just "the guy that married" my sister..he was my brother, from the time I was about 6 years old.  I have so many wonderful memories, but mostly I will remember Chuck for his great sense of humor...what fun we had!  May you find peace in heaven, Chuck, and may those that love you so much that  you left behind, find peace in knowing that they had the privilege of your wonderful and caring spirit while you were here with us.

In loving memory of my Uncle Chuck....

 

God looked around his garden,

And He found an empty place.

He then looked down upon this Earth,

And saw your tired face.

 

He put his arms around you,

And lifted you to rest.

God's garden must be beautiful,

He always takes the best.

 

He knew you were suffering.

He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never,

Get well on Earth again.

 

He saw that the road was getting rough,

And the hills were hard to climb,

So He closed your weary eyelids

And whispered, "Peace by Thine."

 

It broke our hearts to lose you,

But you didn't go alone.

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

For the Family .. just think one day we will we our Dad's again, in Heaven
Love you all and May God Give you the peace of knowing he is in loving arms of
God.. Chuck was truely a great man will miss him.

Broken Chain

 We little knew that morning 
 that God was going to call your name.
