

Charles W. Solomon Jr. of Columbus, Ohio passed away at Kobacker House on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born on July 8, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Solomon Sr. and Leola Solomon; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Eva Noble; grandson, Bryan Cook; brothers-in-law, Donald Noble and Richard F. Phillips; nephew, Douglas Noble; and niece, Vicki Basbagil. Charles married Rosemary Noble on June 3rd, 1950. She survives him; daughters, Rita Jean Cook (Alan) and Michele Arlene Stravelakis (Nicholas); brother, James Solomon (Doris); sister, Mary Ann Lupher (Dennis); brother-in-law, Robert Noble (Mary Beth); sisters-in-law, Naomi Peters (James), Carolyn Phillips and Carole Noble; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles graduated from Pickerington High School in the class of 1947. He was employed by The Farm Bureau, Buckeye Steel Castings, Columbus and Southern Electric Company, and Hanover Manufacturing. His final dual employment of Columbus Outdoor Advertising and Ralston Industries where he worked for fifty two years. Charles was a softball player, avid golfer, and enjoyed all sports especially The Ohio State Buckeyes. Charles gave his life to Jesus in April of 2015 and was baptized on July 31, 2016 at Creekside in Gahanna, Ohio by the pastors of the Shepherd Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Shepherd Church od Nazarene, 425 South Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, where family receive friends from 10:30 AM until time of service. Reception to follow. Interment at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
