

Charles Edward Timberlake, age 78, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011. He was born in Lancaster, Ohio, to the late Charles T. and Kathleen Timberlake. Chuck attended Miami University where he paid his way through school by playing saxophone in the university stage band, The Campus Owls. After earning his Bachelor’s degree, Chuck did graduate work at the University of Michigan. He served our country in the US Navy as an actuary for the US Public Health Service. After moving to Columbus, Chuck worked for Nationwide Insurance, H.W. Satchwell, and Fidelity National Life Insurance. In 1982, he started his own business, Timberlake and Associates. Chuck had a genuine interest in people, and he loved learning about them. He also loved music, watching the Cincinnati Reds, and OSU sports. He was a past member of the Elks and the Highlands Golf Club. He was also a season ticket holder of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and enjoyed live music. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Timberlake; son, Mark C. (Kellie) Timberlake; grandsons, David B. and Charles R. (Nikki) Timberlake; great grandchildren, Roland, Malaila, and one on the way, Bentley; and brother-in-law, Robert Swartz. He was preceded in death by his son, Bowen T. Timberlake; and sister, Nancy Swartz. Family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Pretorius officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
