Charles "Charlie" M. Turner

Charles “Charlie” M. Turner, age 71, of Gahanna passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at his home. Charlie was born on August 4, 1938 in Fayette County, Ohio to Henry and Martha Turner; who preceded him in death. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Roberta; children, Kelly Turner and Leigh (Yana) Turner; grandchildren, Charlie and Isaac Turner; sister, Frances (Barry) Corson; brother, Donald (Delberta) Turner; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Charlie was a member of the Gahanna City Council Planning and Zoning Board, and was a manager for the Twins Little League team in Gahanna. He retired after 20 years as Chief Engineer for the City of Columbus Division of Water. Charlie enjoyed golfing and bowling, and in his later years became a wine connoisseur. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 6-8pm at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, where funeral services will be on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10am. Pastor Warren Hilderbrand officiating. Interment to follow at Mifflin Township Cemetery.
