Choi Poon Lee

Choi Poon Lee, age 75, of Westerville, Ohio passed away on June 14, 2025. He was born on October 2,1949 in Toy Shan, Canton, China to the late Chee Ngon Lee and Hoi Tong Yan Lee. Choi Poon Lee joins in death his parents, his wife, Yuk Mei Kwan Lee and his sister, Choi Kuen Lee Yu. He leaves behind his daughter, Betty Lee, son, Simon Lee, and brother, Jimmy Lee.

Choi was an incredibly supportive father who was present through every stage of his son and daughter’s lives, bringing wit and humor any chance he can get, making many unforgettable moments filled with bursts of laughter. He always wanted to make sure everyone’s needs are met, and was always looking for ways to support where he can. Choi was an incredibly hard worker, working at least two jobs at a time to provide for his family up until retirement. He passed down his hard-working mentality, intellect and sense of humor to his son and daughter, helping them find light and joy in every moment. Choi was also an incredible chef who always cooked enough for the entire family and guests and welcomed every person to the table. Choi was also a master at Mahjong and chess, making him one who was hard to beat at every game. Choi also loved planting beautiful flowers in the garden and watching them thrive, with his favorite flowers being peonies, roses and hibiscuses. Choi had a big heart and always wanted to make everyone around him feel welcome and comfortable. He will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 23, 2025, from 10AM to 12PM at Advantage by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204 with the funeral service starting at 12PM. Burial will follow in Galloway Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio.
