Christine D. Demana, age 88, of Westerville, died peacefully at her home, Saturday, August 1, 2026, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She grew up in Springfield, OH, graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1956. Although she worked for many years before retiring from The Ohio State University, the most important thing to her was always her family. This included supporting the career of her husband, Dr. Franklin D. Demana, who preceded her in death in 2021. She accompanied the esteemed mathematician on many of his speaking engagements around the world. She retired early from the university to be able to assist in coordinating his travel plans. Through the early years, she tirelessly hosted faculty parties to further his career at OSU. All the while, she did an amazing job raising her three children, ensuring they were happy and successful. Once she and her husband retired, she organized regular family vacations to Hilton Head Island, SC, so that the growing family, including grandchildren, could spend time together and appreciate — as she always did — the benefits of a warm, loving family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her parents, Raymond and Colletta Brannick; siblings, Bill and Bob Brannick, Genevieve Waterman, and Patty Reese. She is survived by sons, Anthony "Tony" (Sue) Demana and Michael “Mike” (Jenny) Demana of Columbus, and Brian (Deirdre) Demana of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Matthew “Matt” (Katy) Demana, Sarah (Devon) Rogers, and Vincent Demana; great grandson, Otto Rogers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 10am until 12pm at ADVANTAGE BY SCHOEDINGER NORTH, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, Oh 43229. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 12pm Tuesday. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
