Christine T. Sakellariou

Christine "Chris" Sakellariou, age 69, of Lewis Center joined her parents in heaven on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born on February 17, 1952 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Joseph and Sophie (Pawlak) Downar. Upon graduation from Catholic Central High School in Steubenville in 1970, Chris attended and graduated from Bliss College with a degree in Business Management. She proudly worked for the Ohio Attorney General's office for many years until she retired in 2017. In addition, Chris owned and operated Old World Recipes restaurant in Reynoldsburg with her husband, Theodore, where together they spent many days and nights serving the best pizza in town to the Reynoldsburg community. Her pride and joy was her daughter Nicole and grandson little Theo, and she worked to give them the best life that she could. She was a proud "Dance Mom'' and enjoyed traveling around the country to the many competitions that her daughter Nicole competed in. Upon her retirement, she loved spending her time with her daughter and grandson, from beach vacations to spending time with them at her home. Preceded in death by her parents, Chris is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving husband Theodore Sakellariou, daughter Nicole (Noah Bernard) Sakellariou, grandson Theodore Bernard, sister Wanda (Daniel) O'Malley, brother Joseph (Christine) Downar, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Her family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road Columbus, Ohio 43221. Her funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N.
