

Clyde Mahan, 82, of Darbyville, passed away on August 4, 2017. Clyde was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Sollie and Edna (Peace) Mahan. He worked at many places during his lifetime including Magic Chef (35 years), Horton's Emergency Vehicles and Manheim Auto Auction. He also helped his brother, Virgil, and sister-in-law, Mart, in their upholstery shop when they needed a hand. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed working and watching the races at 35 Raceway, joking around, talking to the neighbors and sitting on the front porch swing. Preceded in death by parents Sollie and Edna (Peace) Mahan, daughter, Mary C. Carrier, son, C. Christopher Mahan, brothers, R.B. Mahan and W.C. Mahan and sisters Delphia Jones and Vernie Jones. Clyde will be greatly missed by his wife, Jean Purcell; Children, Darlene (Scott Shoemaker) Knowlton and Earl Purcell; Grandchildren, Robert Perdew, Matthew (Amber) Armitage, Nicholas Summers, Brittany (Adam) Monroe, Jessica Purcell and Sarah (Wyatt Courtney) Knowlton; Step-Grandchildren, Scott (Sherry) Carrier, Deni Carrier, Lasondra (Chase) Wellman, Sam Corne and Erica Harris; Great-Grand Children, Mattie Joe, Carter, Derrick, Mya, Connor, Emma, Elizabeth, Matkenzie Jean, Katie Bug and Wyatt; Step-Great Grandchildren Amy, Lindsay, Makayla, Christina, Sammy, Serenity and DJ; Brother, Virgil Mahan, Brother in law, William Schulz, Sister in laws Mary (Mike) LaFollette and Carol Bowers; Son in law Jerry Carrier, Daughter in law, Donna Mahan, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Clyde touched the heart of many people in his lifetime and his contagious smile will be remembered by all. Services will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The service will be held on Friday, August 11th at 11 am. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to The National Parkinson's Foundation.
