CURT KAMPMEIER, age 82, died peacefully on August 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his son Rand; brother Jack; parents, Carlos and Neva Lou (Brown) Kampmeier; brothers-in-law Bob Agee and Dave Sucsy; Aunt Laura, Aunt Margaret, Uncle Roland, and Uncle Lester; and cousins Ann, Harlow, and Tom. He is survived by his children Beth Palmer and her husband Frank; Paul Kampmeier, Paul’s wife Stacy Kihlstrom, and their children Chloe and August; and John Kampmeier; his siblings Patricia, Chris (Marilyn), and Peggy, and sister-in-law Anne; nieces and nephews Scott (Julie), Peggy (Ed), Stephen, Laurie, Maureen, Chris, Jenny, Alisha (Chuck), Joshua, Hannah, and Martha and their children; and cousins and other extended family.
He graduated from The College of Wooster and The Alexander Hamilton Institute. He devoted his adult life to helping businesses grow by helping their leaders grow. After nine years of field work for The Westminster Press and Random House, Inc., he started his own firm, The Kampmeier Group, and enjoyed 35 successful years as a business owner and trusted business advisor. He worked with some 600 business owners in 40 different industries, in conversation and in writing 8,000 reports for them, with 85-90% success with his recommendations.
He is a former trustee of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, a college commencement speaker, a Certified Management Consultant Emeritus, a fellow of The Institute of Management Consultants, and the author of a hundred reviews of books on leadership and management. For many years, he was an editor of the leading journal in his field, and he was profiled in Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in Business and Finance, and Who’s Who in the World.
Right up to the end of his life, he was still following his passion to help others. He had his own share of pain, loss, and regrets; but, for him, life was also a grand, exciting adventure. He saw that as a gift from God, his heritage, his education and experience, and his clients, for which he was ever thankful.
