

D. Michael "Mike" Good, age 69, of Columbus, died unexpectedly, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home. He was born October 18, 1946 in Huntington, West Virginia, only child of William and Martha (Sargent) Good. He was a petroleum engineer who began his career at Exxon, then worked at Worthington Steel and finally retiring from Texas Oil and Gas with over 30 years of service. Mike then became the golf coach at the University of Charleston (WV) for twelve years and was the girls golf coach at Upper Arlington High School for two years. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed by his wife of 47 years, Carol Rice Good; daughters and sons-in-law, Alison and Michael Gallagher and Meredith and Jason Fine; his grandchildren, Colin Gallagher, Madeline Fine and Mia Fine. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Peggy Zechman and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phil and Ginny Rice. Mike received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The Ohio State University, where he lettered in golf for four years, becoming an Academic All-American one year. He was a member of the Varsity O; member of the USGA; a former PGA instructor and teacher and a member of the NCAA Coaches Association. A Gathering to Celebrate Mike's Life will be held form 2-4 pm Sunday, April 10, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Rd. There will be a private family service at a later date.
