

He graduated from Pickerington High School and attended OSU. Dan was a Vietnam War Army Veteran who received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam. Dan was a member of and a past Post Commander of the American Legion Southway Post, a member of the Aladdin Temple Hospitality Unit and a member of Southgate Potter Lodge of the F and A M. He also volunteered for a number of years at the summer Special Olympics at OSU, in spite of being paralyzed from the chest down himself for an aortic aneurism. Following his military duty, he worked for a number of years in the hospitality/hotel industry in a number of different locations.
Preceded in death by his parents and his Great Nephew, Hayden Whitfield. He is survived by his brother Stephen (Gloria) Walker, his niece Beth (Carl) Philips and nephew Robert (Debbie) Walker, a Great Niece Jennica (Tripp) Plaskett, Great Nephews Trenton, Jared and Cole Walker, a Great Great Nephew Jack Plaskett and several cousins.
Arrangements are being handled by Schoedinger Worthington Chapel. A chapel service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at 5600 E Broad St at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, August 21.
