Daniel is preceded in death by his wife Teresa, his parents, Donald, and Joyce and Joseph Palmer (stepfather), his brother Robert and sister-in-law, Rebecca Heimann. Daniel is survived by his stepson Mark (Rachael) Hart; his siblings, Ronald (Brenda)Heimann, Richard Heimann, Marsha (Tammy) Palmer, Beverly Palmer, and Jo (Tifffany) Palmer; his grandchildren, Collin, and Olivia; and his many, many nieces and nephews.
Dan was born on July 28, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio. He attended South High School (Go Bulldogs!) and went on to serve in the United States Army. Dan worked all around Columbus, including Grant Hospital and the Groveport Water Plant.
In 2009, Dan married the love of his life Teresa Delancey in Las Vegas. They celebrated many of their anniversaries in Vegas over the years. Dan’s role as a stepfather to Mark and a grandfather to Collin and Olivia was one of his greatest joys.
Dan shared his love of mechanics by teaching kids in the neighborhood on how to fix cars, lawnmowers, and bikes. Dan loved animals, he often pet sat for many neighbors and made sure the squirrels and stray cats in the neighborhood were fed. He enjoyed listening to classic rock (ZZ top was his favorite).
Many people thought of Dan as the “Gentle Giant”. Dan was kind, funny, and giving. Dan had a generous spirit that extended beyond his family.
Dan’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue to be a beacon of joy for all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
