Daniel Alan Rice

Daniel A. Rice, passed away after a valiant fight on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born on June 15, 1951 in New Concord, Ohio to the late Charles “Pat” and Nellie Rice. A graduate of John Glenn High School, Class of 1969, he went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Rita Wallace on November 24, 1976. For 10 years he raced his Rabbit GTI at Mid Ohio, racing under the SCCA Pro Racing. A devoted husband and dad, he enjoyed the quiet time he spent with his wife and daughters, whom he called, “The Ladies of His Life”. They enjoyed his sense of humor, his zest for life and his honest outlook on life, providing perspective during life’s ‘ups and downs’. He will be missed greatly by his wife Rita; daughters Erika (Donovan) Lynn and their baby on the way, and Christa (Ben Bailey) Rice; sister Sheila (Malcolm) Kennedy; sister’s–in-law Delores Mosolf and Gloria (Mike) Gilbert; brother-in-law Ted Wallace; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd. in Upper Arlington where a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor John Girard, officiating. A loving cremation has been entrusted to our funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Simon Kenton Council, Boy Scouts of America, Leadership Development Center, 807 Kinnear Rd.
