Dariek Lee Woodard, age 42, of Ashville, Ohio, passed away on January 12, 2022. He is survived by his middle school sweetheart, wife, and best friend of 26 years, Tara Woodard (Estepp); children, Ayden Woodard, Zane Woodard, Keira Woodard, Logan Woodard, and Tricia Woodard; Father, Dallas Woodard and other extended family and friends, including special friends, Benjamin and Sheri Clever. He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia Woodard (Stewart) and his grandmother Edna Stewart.
Dariek was employed by Strawser Equipment and Leasing for the last 3 years driving a dump truck. He loved his job and his truck. He loved showing up to work in shorts and a cut off shirt, especially during the wintertime. He made his coworkers laugh by his ability to withstand the cold. He would tell them, "Mind over matter, I don't have the mind so it doesn't matter".
Dariek was very well loved and cherished by all who knew him. He loved saying that he didn't know any strangers, they were just people he hadn't met yet. Dariek was always the first person to offer a helping hand and protected all he knew. You could always catch him in his spare time riding his motorcycle with his cherished and special friends and doing his best to make people laugh. He had a way with his ridiculous smile and humor to make those around him smile, even if they didn't want to. He told everyone, and meant it, that at a drop of a hat, if they needed him, he would be there for whatever reason no matter what.
Dariek and Tara met in middle school in 1995 and have been inseparable since then. They created a beautiful family with 5 children. If you knew him then you knew how much he loved his wife and children. He would tell everyone who would listen, and you could feel his love for them in each word he spoke. He was so very proud of each one of his children for the young adults they are becoming.
He had a love for life and lived every moment he could to its fullest. Come celebrate his life on Friday January 28, 2022 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at HEART AND HOPE BY SCHOEDINGER, 3030 West Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43204 and share your stories of Dariek and make some new friends that is how he would have wanted it. A memorial for Dariek will be held at a later date and time.
