

David Cooper, Sr. of Hilliard, OH died on September 10, 2021; he was 89 years old. Born on May 9, 1932, Dave was the son of Chaim Cooper, a Polish immigrant, and Anna Elizabeth (Winkler), a second generation American. Dave grew up in New York City and attended college locally at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Dave had 4 siblings, but only he and his older brother, Bill, survived to adulthood. Dave had a long career as an engineer and business executive and traveled the world extensively, spending significant time working in Europe and Asia. Dave was a polymath who solved advanced calculus problems, studied literature and history, enjoyed travel, painted, and wrote 2 novels in his 80's. Dave was married for 54 years to Janice Arneman Cooper, and together they raised 5 children-Anne (Cooper) Little (Jeffrey, deceased), David Cooper, Jr. (Cheryl), Fredrick Cooper, Timothy Cooper (Brent McEwan), and Andrew Cooper (Laurel). A lifelong Dodgers fan, Dave moved with Jan and their family to Los Angeles in 1967 after stops in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Erie. Those who knew Dave were fairly certain he moved to Los Angeles to follow the Dodgers. Jan died following a prolonged illness, and Dave met and married Anne Mosure Clotts. They had 8 happy years of marriage together during which they enjoyed travel, family, and companionship. Dave is survived by his wife, Anne, his 5 children, 10 grandchildren-Jack Little (Karla), Grace Cooper Olson (Erik), Kathryn Cooper Boyce (William), Cole Cooper, Clay Cooper (Maia), Samuel Cooper, Frederick Cooper, Tyler Cooper, Elinore Cooper, and Cameron Cooper, and 4 great-grandchildren--Annika Olson, Beatrix Dana Boyce, Cooper David Olson, and Jeffrey Thomas Little. Dave is also survived by his stepchildren, Michelle Neff (Charlie) and Mark Clotts (Tricia), and 5 step-grandchildren, Sydney and Rachel Neff, and Max, Ben, and Katelyn Clotts, who came to know and love Dave over these past 8 years. A Celebration of Life will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, OH on Friday, September 24th, from 3 to 6 pm. Rosary will be said at 5:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 25th at 10 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 1860 Northam Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221.
