

David Y. France, 84 of Worthington, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born March 3, 1926 in Columbus and was a graduate of Grandview High School and The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. army as a 2nd Lieutenant. David worked in human resources at Janitrol Aero Div. of Midland Ross and retired in 1988 after 37 years. He was an avid model railroader and golfer, and also enjoyed reading, bowling, sailing, and playing bridge. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Claudine (Urlin) France. He will be missed by his loving wife of almost 34 years, Mae; sons, David William “Bill” (Georgeann) France and Robert M. France (Tamela Chapman); grandchildren, Natalie France, Meaghan (Bryan) York, Angela France, and Benjamin (fiancée Brooke Banning) France; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Whitney; and niece Claudine Whitney; nephews, Charles and Christopher (Annalisa) Whitney; and Diane France. David’s family would like to extend a special thanks to HomeReach Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 4pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Columbus. (Just South of I-270), where a Celebration of Life reception will be held immediately following the services. Private inurnment in Green Lawn Cemetery.
