After graduation from Howland High School in 1975, David married and took a job with BF Goodrich exploring the countryside from the cab of a semi. His career eventually led to taking over the family business which he ran until retirement.
David had a big heart for animals. He always had at least one dog at his side. He was an avid horseman and an active member of OHC. If he was not trail riding, he was tinkering with cars, testing his culinary skills, or spending time with his grandchildren. David was gentle, kind, and goofy, but always there for support when you needed him.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Gloria Gibbs of Howland, his daughter, Jessica Meloro and her husband Ross of Gahanna, his sister Lisa Chumley and husband Tim of Warren, two grandchildren, Oliver and Felix, as well as his nephews and several cousins and close friends who will all miss him dearly.
A private Celebration of Life will take place at Mill Creek Park. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in David's memory to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County at P.O. Box 66 Vienna, OH 44473 or www.awlrescueme.com/donate/.
