David Neil Pence

Dave graduated from Columbus West High School in 1957, a proud Hilltopper all his days. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1962-68. Dave graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in 1964 & M.A. in 1969 in Graduate Studies- and later enjoyed coursework at The OSU Over 60 Program. He was a longtime History-Government teacher and Guidance Counselor at Columbus Brookhaven High School. Dave was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Columbus Northern Lion’s Club, Friend Family Association and Sons of the American Revolution. He also had a great love for his family’s ancestral farm, near New Salem, OH, and for the people of Fairfield County.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Scott V. Pence and Steven W. Pence. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Louise (Flower) Pence; sons Bret (Laura) and Dean (Stacie) Pence; 4 grandchildren John Pence, Reagan Pence, Colin Pence and David Pence; nieces Lindsay (Bruce) Todd, Amy Pence, Mollie Pence; and nephew Col. Scott (Bronwen) Pence.

Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, UA 43221. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd, Columbus 43212, followed by a Celebration of Life Reception from 2-3pm with family and friends.
