David John "Moon Eyes" Schaefer, age 59, of Garfield Heights, formerly of Grove City, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights. David loved Horse Racing and worked as a groom at many tracks including Beulah Park, Meadowlands (NJ), River Downs (Cincinnati) and most recently JACK Thistledown Racino. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Schaefer and Mary Ann Schaefer Swarmer; and siblings, Julie Ann and Douglas. He is survived by his siblings, Suzanne Driscoll and Br. Matt Schaefer C.P.P.S; nieces, Julie, Amy, and Megan Driscoll, special friends, Timmy and Crystal Douglas and countless other friends. All services will be private; arrangements by Heart and Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger.
