David Hodges Swanson Jr.

David Hodges Swanson, Jr., age 84, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. David was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 16, 1939 to the late David and Ruth (Kreiling) Swanson. David was a 1958 graduate of Columbus Academy and received his undergrad degree in 1963 from Miami University. In 1987 he received his law degree from Capital University. He worked for Larrimer & Larrimer Law Firm up until his retirement. For the last 50 years most days you could find David playing chess with his good friend Chris Haines. He also had a strong interest in the stock market and computers and new technology. He will probably be best remembered for his sense of humor and making people laugh with his razor-sharp wit and clever practical jokes! David will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Louise (Larrimer) Swanson; children Leslie Swanson, David (Stacey) Swanson III, Christopher (Brittany) Swanson, and Diana Swanson; grandchildren Brandon, Amanda, Michael, and Tatum Swanson; brothers William (Judi) Swanson and James (Tricia) Swanson; in-laws Ellen (Thom) Tripp, Dr. John (Karen) Larrimer, Neil (Sally) Larrimer, Marge (Jeff) Tenenbaum and Linda (Hugh) Westwater; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, March 1, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
