Dean Alan Nemetz

Dean Alan Nemetz, age 73 passed way on July 25, 2018 at his home. Dean was born December 27, 1944 to John and Irene (Brinkman) Nemetz who preceded him in death. Dean was born and raised in Mineral City, OH. He graduated from Tuscarawas Valley High School in 1962. Dean attended and graduated from Otterbein University in 1966 where he played football. There he met the love of his life Tanya (Alban) Nemetz. They enjoyed a full life together before her death in 2009. Dean was employed in corporate management and retired from JC Penney Company in Columbus, OH. He also served in the National Guard in his early years. Dean was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes and Otterbein Cardinals. Dean also loved to golf, travel and spend time with his family and friends.

Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Nemetz on July 6, 2018 and in-laws, Ernest and Betty Alban. He is survived by his sister, Sandra (Larry) Horstman Sr., Sisters- in -law, Suzanne Nemetz and Jody (Alan) Strickling. He is also survived by niece, Lisa (John) Walsh and nephews Larry (Tricia) Horstman Jr, Scott Nemetz, Brad (Cara Ambrosino) Strickling and Wes (Leah)Strickling. He will also be missed by great nephews and nieces Nicholas and Evan Walsh, Derek and Mariah Horstman and Arik, Audrey and Sydney Strickling.

Arrangements were entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Chapel 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Gahanna, Ohio 43230 where visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 11 am - 1 pm, followed by a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Carmel Hospice 1144 Dublin Rd. Columbus, OH 43215.
