

Debbie was born March 5, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated in 1973 with honors from Newark High School. She had been employed with State Farm Insurance as a secretary for a number of years. Debbie enjoyed volunteer work at hospitals and loved to read, knit and play the piano. She was especially fond of dogs and will be missed by her faithful companion, her Chihuahua, Skeeter.
Debbie is survived by two sons, Todd A. Richard of Newark and Shawn R. Lindsey of Urbana, MD; her mother, Virginia D. (Godsey) Ball of Dayton; sister, Victoria L. (Gary) Glover of Hebron; brother, Daniel E. (Tracy) Fortney of Newark; step-sister, Cynthia S. Fortney of Dayton; step-brother, Brigadier General Michael E. Fortney of Virginia; nieces, Summer L. Winegardner (Shawn Wilson), Tori M. Hacker and Rhylea M. Hacker, all of Newark; nephew, Marcus D. Fortney of Columbus; and family friend, Bob Ecleberry of Newark.
She was preceded in death by her father, Shellie C. Anderson.
According to her wishes, there will be no service or calling hours observed.
