

Debra Kay Latta, 58 of Columbus, died Saturday, August 25, 2012. She was born July 14, 1954 in Kokomo, IN. She was a 1972 graduate of Kokomo High School then attended Indiana University and earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland in 1995. She was a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Columbus since 1998. She was awarded VA Employee of the Year in 2003 and 2007 by the AMVETS. She was past president of the American Society for Podiatric Medical Assistants, a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, and Diplomate of Primary Care and Podiatric Medicine with the American Board of Multiple Specialities in Podiatry. She volunteered with the Ohio AIDS Coalition 1996-1998 and volunteered as the Podiatric Medical Director with the Open Shelter of Columbus 1997-2002. She has written several articles and lectured on Podiatric Medicine across the country. She attended St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Columbus, OH, loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Debra is preceded in death by her mother Norma J. Kelly and survived by dear friend Kathleen Valentine, Easter and Christopher, stepfather Bill Kelly, step brother Jerry Kelly, nephews Justin and Sean, Aunt Betty Richardson and several cousins.
