Debra was born on August 26, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio, to Glenn and Alma Finley. She worked for many years as a Respiratory Therapist at Riverside Hospital until her retirement. After retiring, Debra continued working in childcare and at the Home Store.
Debra loved Jesus deeply and was a woman of strong and unwavering faith. She also had a profound love of music and loved to sing. In her younger years, she shared that gift with friends, family, and worship performances. She attended Cypress Church as well as Vineyard and shared and created a more recent love with friends in the Joyful Sisters study group.
Debra’s love for Jesus was at the heart of who she was. Her faith, kindness, and love for others touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of singing, and the deep faith she carried throughout her life.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Murphy; siblings, Edward, Patricia and Richard.
Survived by her son, Jason (Meredith) Finley; grandchildren, Erin, Sara, and Kristin; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Advantage Funeral Services by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dale George officiating. Interment at Sunset Cemetery.
Debra is now at peace in the loving arms of Jesus, whom she faithfully loved and served.
