

Delmer C. Stumbaugh, age 94, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born at home on July 1, 1923 in Greer, Ohio to the late Clarence and Anna (Juergins) Stumbaugh. Del proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He earned his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Indiana Tech and retired from North American Rockwell with more than 30 years of service. Del enjoyed gardening, woodworking, building, and repairing almost anything. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his family and their trips to the beach. Del was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Del was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Kay Stumbaugh and siblings, Ruth, Blaine, and Dorothy. He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Claprood and Carla (Matthew) Dowling; son, Tom (Donna) Stumbaugh; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Shannon, Brian, Brittany, Shawn, and Tiffany; many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Family will receive friends 5-8 pm Monday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232. A graveside service will begin at 10 am Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 11539 National Rd SW, Pataskala, OH 43062. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
