Delmos Barrett

Delmos Barrett, age 84, of Columbus went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at her home. Delmos was born on April 16, 1927 in Columbus; she was the daughter of the late Delmos and Sarah Mayle. Delmos was also preceded in death by beloved husband, Eugene Barrett; sons, William Evans and Eugene Barrett, Jr.; and brother Edward Morgan. She is survived by a loving family; children, Kimberly Shephard (Mac Williams), Melanie (Robert) Cox, Dylan (Paula) Barrett, Carla (Sammie) Goddard, Billie Kelly and Charlene Nesbitt; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Delmos was a graduate of Central High School. She was a teacher's aid at Livingston Elementary and went on to retire as a receptionist from The Columbus Urban League after many years of dedicated service. She was a former member of St. Dominic, Holy Rosary, and St. John Catholic Churches. Delmos will be remembered for the unconditional love and devotion she had for her family. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 453 N. 20th Street, Columbus, Ohio 43203; Fr. Joshua Wagner celebrant.
