

Dennis Herbert Hennagir passed away on December 1, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on February 26, 1951, in Bertha, Minnesota, he was the beloved son of Herbert Hoover Hennagir and Violet Marie Hennagir.
Dennis was a standout athlete at Bertha High School, where he captained the varsity football, baseball, and basketball teams, earning a place in the Bertha Hewitt Hall of Fame in 2023. His dedication to family was unwavering, a devotion that defined his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fayette, and daughter, Heather. His legacy continues through his daughter, Christine (Will) Hennagir, and son, Justin Hennagir. His grandchildren, Hope (Dalvin), Samantha , Dominic (Heidi), Romello (Tasha), Joshua, and Za'Zen, along with great-grandchildren Carter Michael, Anthony, Zahria, Hendrix, Levi, Avery, Koa and Vincent, are a testament to his enduring love.
Dennis was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Minnesota Vikings. He cherished golfing with his son, Justin, and delighted in his great-grandson Carter's fishing stories. The spirited banter during OSU/Michigan games with his grandsons was a treasured tradition.
He is survived by his sisters, Kim (Bruce) Anderson and Carol (Lanny) Kolpek, brothers, Kevin (Christie) Hennagir and Doug (Deb) Hennagir, and numerous nieces and nephews. His beloved pets, Benji, Jasmine, Rosie, and granddog Bella, were his constant companions. Dennis's life was a symphony of love, dedication, and community spirit, and his memory will forever dance in the hearts of those who knew him.
A visitation for Dennis will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Schoedinger East, 5360 E Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, followed by a 12:30 pm funeral service.
