

Denzil "Denny" M. Chapman, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 24, 1933 in Elkins, WV to the late Blyn and Kathaleen (Mollihan) Chapman. He was a graduate of Beverly High School in WV and a US Air Force Korean War Veteran. Denny was a life-long trucker who was affectionately known as "Happy Pappy". He drove for many companies and retired from UPS in 1997. He was a member of Teamsters Local #413. Denny loved being outdoors, whether fishing, feeding the birds and squirrels or doing yardwork. He attended Faith United Methodist in Church in Newark, and in all things kept his family and his Lord at the center of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lona Chapman; brother Marvin (Gloria) Chapman; children John (Cathy) Chapman, Jodi Sedlock, Tiffani (Ibrahim) Ibrahim, Jason (Amanda) Chapman, Justin (Ashlie) Chapman; grandchildren, Amber, Stacy, John, Steven, Jessica, Dan, Victorria, Elijah and Austin; great-grandchildren Juan and Isela; nieces Vicki (Tim) Burkhart and Tracy (Eric) Salmon; great-nieces Brittany, Ashley and Jillian; great-nephew Spencer; great-great-nephew Landon; sister-in-law Patsy (Rick) Bammer and brother-in-law Ron Butcher and their families; extended family and special friends. Family will receive friends 4-8pm Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 where services will be held at 10am Thursday; Pastor Jeff Perry, officiating. Graveside Service 12pm Thursday at Oakdale Cemetery, Marysville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Audubon Society, 505 W. Whittier St., Columbus, OH 43215 in his memory.
