

DeVere William Wenger, 85, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Monday, November 9, 2015 at home. He was born June 2, 1930 in Sabetha, Kansas to the late Phil and Tillie (Beyer) Wenger. DeVere was a graduate of Sabetha High School, Sabetha, Kansas and Colorado State, Fort Collins, Colorado. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired Federal-State Supervisor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was one of the founding members of The United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd and a member of VFW Post #4153. DeVere was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a loving friend, father and Grandpa. He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn in 2003, brother Vance and son-in-law Rick Radcliff. DeVere is survived by children Cherryl (Phil) Wenger- Eakins, Steven (Janice) Wenger, Jeffrey (Jody) Wenger and Terri Jo Radcliff, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, siblings Gerald Wenger, Clayton (Daisy) Wenger, Elowise (Bob) Brunner and Shirley Weber, best friend Andy Anderson. Family will receive friends Friday, November 13, 2015 from 2 PM until time of service at 3 PM at The United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 6176 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, OH 43229.
