Diane Lee Hempstead

Diane Lee Hempstead, age 86, of Whitehall passed away at home on Thursday, June 17, 2021. She was born on February 7, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Otis and Loretta (Culp) Myers. Diane graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1952 and from The Ohio State University in 1956. She retired from Grant Hospital as a medical technologist specializing in hematology. Diane was an avid Buckeye fan, a voracious reader, a crossword enthusiast, and lover of the Hallmark Channel. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband Scott R. Hempstead. She is survived by her children, Scott, Susan, Daniel and Edward; brother, Joseph Myers; sister, Patricia (Bill) Gilbert; granddaughters, Brittany Hempstead and Courtney (Eric) Toohey and their children; great-grandson, Owen Williams; many nieces; and her beloved cat, Dumpy. Family will receive friends 11 am until 1 pm Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43232, where the funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local ASPCA.
