Dick was born and raised on the west side of Columbus, son of the late Raymond and Ernestine Lenihan. He is also preceded in death by siblings Dan Lenihan, Joe Lenihan, Eileen Stevenson, and son Patrick.
Dick retired from Lucent (formerly Western Electric) as a computer coordinator, a job he truly enjoyed. After retirement, he worked the evening shift at Shooters, a non-alcoholic pool hall, where he served as friend and confidante to many local high school kids. His favorite past time was playing cards with family, especially Euchre, Hearts and Thirty One.
Dick will be most remembered for his honesty, cheerful disposition, and very distinctive laugh. He definitely never knew a stranger.
He will be greatly missed by his best friend and wife of 54 years, Anne Lenihan; children Bill Lenihan, Debbie (Lou) Lenihan, Rick (Lora) Lenihan, Denise (Al) Lenihan; granddaughter Jennifer Lenihan; brothers John (Penny) Lenihan, Jim (Carolyn) Lenihan, and many other extended family and friends he has touched throughout the years.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the cemetery office at 10:45 a.m. to proceed to the graveside service beginning at 11:00 am Saturday, May 4 at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street. All are invited to gather immediately afterward to celebrate his life at the home of his brother, Jim Lenihan, 3874 Frazier Rd. E., Columbus.
