Donald E. Bender

Donald E. Bender, age 77, of Blacklick, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014. Don was a graduate of North High School. He retired from State Auto Insurance Company as a lobbyist. Don was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his precious grandchildren, Rachel and Jackson Bender. Survived by his wife, Kay Bender; sons, Dave (Carol) Bender and Steve (Kristin) Bender; sister, Barbara Ternovan; brother, John (Barb) Bender; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Pam Adkins and Sue LaTorre; numerous nephews and nieces. Don greatly missed his beloved dog, Angel who left his side in July 2014. Friends may call from 5-7 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at Beecher RD) Gahanna, where a prayer vigil service will begin at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am on Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Matthew The Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Father Theodore Sill, Celebrant.
