Donald Louis Boes

Boes, Donald L. of Gahanna, OH passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018. Son of the late Isadore Boes and Margaret (Thiel) Boes, he was born on August 21, 1934 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was a 1952 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. After serving in the Army, he worked for (and eventually retired from) The Prudential Insurance Co. as a Sales Manager in the Findlay, Ohio area. Don's family will fondly remember him for his outgoing personality and sense of humor as well as his favorite happy hour Manhattan cocktail. He enjoyed golfing and watching his favorite sports teams, Indians, Browns, and Buckeyes, and loved being around his family. As a St. Matthew the Apostle Church (Gahanna) parishioner, he was a weekday alter server until he was unable due to failing health. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Jean (Klosterman) Boes and his seven children, Steve, Patti, Susan, Larry, Tim, Doug, and Mark along with twenty grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Mary Orians and preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Carle as well as siblings, Dorothy, Joseph, Bernida, Clarence, Robert, and James.

Arrangements were entrusted to SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 where a visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1st from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 2nd at 11am at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
