

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Mildred Coykendall; granddaughter, Andrea Soria; and several siblings.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy (Hunt) Coykendall, with whom he shared 48 years together, including 41 years of marriage; daughter, Brenda Brandeberry; sons, Donald R. Coykendall, David Coykendall, and Darren Coykendall; grandson, Nick Castorano; great-granddaughter, Emmery Castorano and many extended family members.
Don proudly served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career with Pacific Bell/AT&T/Lucent Technologies before retiring. In his younger years, he was active in the Jaycees and valued the friendships and community involvement it provided.
He found joy in listening to Elvis Presley, attending rodeos, reading, and spending time grilling for family and friends. Don was also well known for his legendary beard, which became one of his trademarks.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Private family services will be observed.
