

Donald Elmer Foster, age 86, passed away Monday, March 21, 2017. He was born October 16, 1930 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Glen and Virginia (McDowell) Foster. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and the United States Postal Service. Don served his country during the Vietnam and the Korean Wars. He was a diehard Ohio State fan. He loved to go to Air Shows, take afternoon drives, read history books, and have a “Singer” every once in a while. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christa; son, Sonny Foster; and several siblings. Don is survived by children, Gabriela (Keith) Kern and Gregory (Jacquelyn) Foster; grandchildren, Kevin Foster, Dustin Kern, Dallas Kern, Haven Foster, and Christian Taylor; brother, Jack McDowell; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Gregory, Jaden, Jonathan, and Lilly; daughter-in-law, Shayna Bellamy; close friends, Mike and Nancy; and many other relatives and friends. He was a great friend to a lot of people. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held 10-1 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment Pleasant Cemetery.
