

Donald Albert Helm, age 84, of Blacklick, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1926 in Columbus, OH to the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Albert) Helm and was a graduate of Acquinas High School. Don was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served aboard the USS Mt. Olympus during WWII. He was an adult leader of Boy Scout Troop 326, member of C Ohio Boy Scout Troop, lifetime member of Fr. Hohman Council #5253 Knights of Columbus and member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was a co-owner of Helm Florist and had retired from the Franklin Park Conservatory. Don is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gail (Huffman) Helm. He was the proud father of 7 children; Debbie Liffick, Julie (Dan) Schneider, Christine (John) Shanks, Patrick (Melodie) Helm, Laurie (Bob) Benintendi, Holly (Erik) High, Judy Helm and Faith Ann Groom; Also survived by 13 treasured grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter (Jeanne) Helm; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Peter) Taylor; nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. Family will receive friends 2-6pm Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232; Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30am Monday, November 14, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068; Msgr.
