
Donald E. Hill, age 78, died peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2010, in Florida surrounded by his wife Faye, son Tom, daughter Pam, and his grandchildren, Josh, Tim and Ashley. He was born on October 15, 1931, in Circleville to the late Herschel and Almeda Hill, and he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Hill Glass, and daughter Susan Hill Fath. Don and Faye would have been married 54 years in April. He is father to Tom (Diane) Hill, and Pam (Mike) Forrest; and grandfather to Joshua (Amanda) Forrest, Timothy (Dee) Forrest, Ashley (Chris) Nance, Cameron Hill, and Andrew Hill. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa Hernnstein of Chillicothe; 3 great grandchildren, Lexus, Gracie, and Cole Forrest; special granddaughters, Jamie, Vanessa, and Leslie; and loyal friend, Debbie Dunkle. Don was the 3rd generation owner of Hill Implement, and held several offices in the Farm Power Association. He served on many committees in the community and was a longtime member of The Presbyterian Church. The project he loved the most was the new city park, and he spent his last 3 years doing anything that needed to be done there. Don was a 1949 graduate of Circleville High School, graduate of Ohio University, and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. He served in the US Navy from 1951-1955, coming home to Hill Implement and the customers he loved. Don enjoyed aviation, gardening, and playing golf, but his biggest passion was his family, and he was proud to watch his family grow. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 151 East Main St., Circleville. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at The Presbyterian Church of Circleville, 134 East Mound St., Circleville.
