

Donald R. Hinton, age 84, of Grove City, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 22, 2011. His gentle soul left a deep impression on everyone who knew him. Don was born on October 19, 1926 in Scioto Township, Pickaway County, Ohio. He graduated from Scioto Township High School where he was on the varsity basketball team. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Gussie Merle Osborne Hinton; parents, Myrl Elihu and Reba Emily Prushing Hinton; and sister, Helen Louise Hinton Winkler. Don served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. Don retired from Hagglunds Denison in Columbus. He is survived by his loving family; daughters, Vicky (Thomas) Roark, Diana (Walter) Puckett and son, Edward (Julie) Hinton; daughter-in-law, Carroll Hinton; grandchildren, Thomas (Lisa) Roark, Chasity (Scott) Ohrman, Andrew Hinton, Michael Hinton, and Elizabeth Hinton; great-grandchildren, Molly, Tony and Caroline Roark, Michael, Nathan and Bailey Ohrman, and Colt Anderson; sisters-in-law, Ruby (John) Tufts, Mary Wiegand, and Norma Golden; many nieces and nephews; and the dear friends of the Harrisburg United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 3-7 pm, Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Pastor Edwin L. Martin officiating. Interment at Fernwood Cemetery, 460 Rowe Road, Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Harrisburg United Methodist Church.
