Donald D. Parsons, age 76, of Columbus, died Wednesday July 16, 2014 at Zusman Hospice. He was the owner of several service stations in North Columbus. “Big Daddy Don” was a longtime stock car racer at Columbus Motor Speedway. He is preceded in death by his sons, Donald E. Parsons and Bobby Johnson; parents, Leonard and Grace Parsons; siblings, John Andrews, Kenny Parsons, Noreen Henry, and Charlotte Gambrel. Don is survived by his wife, Hazel; children, Debbie (Rick White) Sells, Dearl E. (Judy) Parsons, Tamela Rideout; Cherri (Gary) Brenner, Brenda (Bob Hoover) Johnson, Lisa (Mike) Taylor, Donald Gene Parsons, and Dearl Eugene “Bubba” Parsons; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Susie (Jack) Ward; other relatives and friends. Visitation 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road where a funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, with visitation one hour prior.
