

Donald G. Sibert, age 78, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at St. Ann's Hospital. He was born June 23, 1935 to the late Donald S. Sibert and Estella (Yono) Biegler in Columbus, Ohio. Don graduated from Central High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served from 1952-1956 during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Ault 698. Don retired from DuBois Chemicals after 31 years of service. He later owned and operated his own business as President of DGM Distributing Inc. Don was a life member of AmVets Post #89 and of the VFW Post #7941. He was also a member of the Columbus Softball Hall of Fame. Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Virginia Sibert; and his beloved dog, Vegas. He is survived by loving wife of over 53 years, Gay (Scott) Sibert; children, Shelli Sibert, Mike Sibert and Don (Pam) Sibert; granddaughters, Brittany, Hilary and Erica Sibert; sister, Marilyn (Jim) Shaw; nieces and nephews, Rob and Sandy McInerney and Steve and Cathy McInerney; sister-in-law, Donna (David) Collins; brothers-in-law, Darrell (Marianne) Scott and Rick (Carol) Scott; along with many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held 10am, Friday, May 23, 2014. Pastor David Redding officiating.
