

Dorothy was born at home on the coldest winter night in years on January 19, 1921, in Gahanna to the late Floyd and Fannie (Wedemeyer) Slyh. Her Daddy had to get old Lizzie out of the barn and go get Grandma Wedemeyer.
She was active first at Mifflin Presbyterian Church until 1968, where she was married in 1938 to the late Lawrence Donald "Dutch" Souder, who preceded her in death in 1990. She was then a member of Gahanna Christian Center, where she was made an Elder in 1968 and remained active until her passing. She is preceded in death by her second husband, Raymond Baker, whom she was married to from 1991 until his passing in 1996. Dorothy started working at Rocky Fork Hunt and Country Club in 1952 and loved all the members there like family. She retired in 1994 as assistant manager.
She is survived by her daughters Jeanne Nesmith and Joan Morrow; grandchildren Lori (Dick) Larimer, Karen Smith, Melinda (Jay) Archer and Matthew Morrow; great grandchildren Michael Miller, Amanda Miller, Aaron Norris, Makenna Morrow and Mary Margaret Elizabeth Morrow; sister Marjorie Rohner; nephew Steven Rohner; niece Linda Biddlestone and longtime church friend of 14 years, Paul Cook.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 22, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna from 2PM to 4PM where a funeral service will be held Monday at 2PM with Pastor Bill Swad officiating. Burial will follow at Mifflin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd, Columbus, OH 43215.
