Dorothy J. Baldwin

Dorothy Leighninger Baldwin, age 99, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 18, 2014 at First Community Village in Columbus. Born March 8, 1915 in Wadsworth, Ohio the daughter of the late Mr. M.W. Seiller and Elsie Hartman Seiller. She was a graduate of West High School and Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was preceded in death by husbands, Paul E. Leighninger and Martin H. Baldwin; daughter, Jane Leighninger; and sister, Eleanor Tarbutton. She was a long time member of Parkview United Methodist Church and an active member of UHW where she served thirty years as Alter Guild Chairman. She belonged to P.E.O, Monnett Club, and the Highland Garden Club. She is survived by beloved son, .Jeff (Penny) Leighninger; granddaughter, Kristy (Jason) deChampbeau; grandson, Andrew Leighninger; great granddaughter, Olivia; great grandson, Alex; and step-son, Ben (Jan) Baldwin of Naples, FL. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 1:00PM with visitation one hour prior at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. She will be laid to rest privately at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
